Network / Phone Issue : Unique Problem

I have a Redmi Note 4. Currently I am using a Vodafone 4G card. Problem is that although the network strength is good, I don't get continuous 4G network on my phone. I see full network bars, but can't make calls/use data on every occasion. It works randomly at any time. If I manually select network, I would be able to make a call. But then this doesn't happen Everytime.

The card perfectly works fine with 4G on other phones

I did go to the carrier but they say it's not there problem. I did factory reset of my phone 2-3 times.

I went to the Service center who did a Software Reset. Still my card or my wife's card didn't work in it. The servicing guy's card was working according to him.
When I asked the servicing guy, they said that he will software reset once more. If it still doesn't work, then motherboard needs to be changed. Is it a right solution?

Can't figure out what the issue is. Please help.

By card... Do you mean sim?

There are other things that could be called Vodafone cards, so just trying to avoid confusion.

Look in your Settings >> Wireless & networks >> More menu and if there's a 'Network settings reset' option try that. Note this will reset all network related settings to their defaults so any WiFi network entries and saved Bluetooth pairings will be wiped. But this does do a thorough job at resetting your phone's networking connectivity.

As for the multiple Factory Resets and such, if that doesn't solve the problem the first time I don't think repeating the process is going to help. If there's another phone service facility nearby you might want try getting a second opinion.

The Sim card works perfectly when used in any other phone. And none of the Sim cards work properly when used on the Redmi phone. There is a problem with the call also. Sometimes I can make, most of the time I can't. I tried resetting the Access points. It still doesn't work. Just want some idea on this forum before I go to another store.

Checked. Note 4 works on Vodafone.

The problem is something very unique.

If the problem was with the Sim, then it should not work on other devices. It DOES.

If the problem was with the phone, I should not get network at all or I should not be able to make calls / use data at all. But I CAN occasionally.

Also my aunt uses the same phone and carrier. 4G on her phone works great.

It's not only Vodafone though. My Airtel 4G card also doesn't work on it.

Really confused. :(

Very odd.

Sounds like a hardware issue TBH. If it works in other devices and the issue persists after a factory reset, it normally points to a hardware problem of some sort.

I'm guessing it's still in warranty?

Is this Vodafone UK, and the Xiaomi Redmi was bought online from China? Of so, it may only be partially compatible with Vodafone's 4G LTE network in the UK.

Requesting some help here. Will a motherboard change resolve the issue?

As I said above, if it works in other devices and you've tried a factory reset, it's almost certainly a hardware issue. As replacing the motherboard is essentially replacing most of the things that make the phone work, it should technically resolve it.

That being said, it is difficult to know what is actually at fault, but all evidence points to hardware.

I see full network bars, but can't make calls/use data on every occasion. It works randomly at any time. If I manually select network, I would be able to make a call.
I wonder whether that last sentence is relevant? Might the phone have lost the Vodafone connection (for whatever reason), and the signal it is showing is another network, which could allow emergency calls only? I'm not familiar with how Indian networks handle such situations, but technically at least that's a possibility. Then manually selecting the network forces it to reconnect to Vodafone, which lets you make calls again.
