Help network problem(Frequency) in samsung

i m in canada i have bought samsung galaxy pop S5570 from india .when i insert canadian sim card no network detected. i took to the card holder .they said it will not work in canada. b'cause of less frequency.

I want to know is it true? is there any frequency setting in mobile or any way so that my phone works in canada.

Plz i need suggestions

I think they are taking about GSM Frequencies... Our Galaxy Pop is Quad band meaning it can only support sim card which operate on one of the four frequencies 800Mhz, 900Mhz and two other which I forget now (you can find it in phone specification for Galaxy Mini at Handy Informations -search there) ....

So, if celluar in Canada operate in other frequencies than this then you are out of luck. You can find more about these at wikipedia :
