Network Service dropout, no reconnect on Android

Hi, just checking if anyone else has this issue whereby when I'm traveling if my phone loses network service, and then once I'm back in a network serviceable area, android does not automatically reconnect. I usually just have to restart my phone to get it back onto the network. This has happened on both my lg and samsung phones. Does anyone know if this happens on Iphones too? Thanks for reading and any responses...

I had what you described happen with a Nokia 5110, but that was more than 20 years ago. In that case Cellnet, my carrier at the time, replaced the SIM and it was fine after that.

As you're having it happen on two different phones, maybe your SIM needs to be replaced?

@mikedt thanks, yeah I can't determine if it's the carrier/sim or android, the phone does reconnect service when drops out, because I've used a gsm monitor app to check, it just seems to not want to reconnect on some occasions out in the middle of nowhere, maybe when both my LTE and 4g drop out, also might be a timeout thing..? Anyhow it doesn't appear to be a widespread issue from what I can see.

it happens from time to time. it just happened to me today. i was at a clients house and i never get any reception what so ever. after leaving i get into an area where i should have gotten reception, but did not. i rebooted and all was well.

is this an every day occurrence for you?

No not an everyday thing thankfully, usually only when I'm driving through a no reception area, then I only remember I drove through a no reception area, when I'm not getting any txt message replies later...I would like to see how the coding is setup for these occurrences, the timeout theory might hold.
