I cant change my network from gsm to wcdma

That doesn't give us much to go on. Do you mean you don't have the setting, that when you change it it doesn't actually switch from 2G to 3G, or that it loses connection, or what?
If you could post again and tell us what phone model you have, which country you are in and which network, and describe the problem in more detail, hopefully someone will be able to advise.
