NEVER HAVE A DEAD BATTERY!!

OK ... This is what I do so I NEVER have a Dead Phone while I'm out for long amounts of time.
Go to Amazon and search Phone batteries..Buy yourself 2 batteries. (Of course search the 1 compatible with your mod)
Then search( external wall) phone chargers. Also be sure to get the 1 that's compatible with your battery size.i have 2 of them .
They're very cheap and it's a great FIX to an ongoing problem
Altogether it shouldn't cost you more than 20$.. amazon or ebay has them with FREE SHIPPING!!

Welcome to Android Forums.

What do you mean by "long amount of time"?

I use a Droid Turbo 64GB and measured it three times. Each time I got three days of battery life.

I had no idea They last that long!!
So u mean that if I upgrade to Galaxy6 that's how long the battery last? Even while I'm using Bluetooth for my Smart gear.and listening to.my music apps??

I hate when I have to preserve power ya no what I mean ?

Most phones are coming without a removable battery at this point. Even Samsung is getting away from it.

I get decent battery life out of my Nexus 6. But I also work at a desk, so charging isn't an issue should I need to. For emergencies I carry a portable power bank. It's about the size of a phone, but it's essentially a 5,000 mAh battery that you can use to charge your phone with.

Everyone's experience is different so the only way you will know for you is to try it out and measure it.

When making your choice ... battery life is one of your priorities.

How frequently are you willing to recharge?

I use a wireless charger by my workstation as a convenient stand and as a result never think abut charging.

I have the Galaxy S5 with a 2250 mA battery (I think it is)... bigger than most anyway.

My wife uses her S5 as a telephone only. It sits idle for days on end, about 12-14 days sometimes. With a few conversations here and there.

My S5 gets used differently almost everyday. Even so, on the heaviest days of use, I can easily get 10-12 hours of use and still be at 40% or close to it.

Typically it goes about 2 days per charge.

I just installed Qi wireless chargers in both of them, why bother with a spare battery?
If you think you are going out on a long outing, make sure the phone sleeps on the Qi pad before you leave...
I just plunk it on the pad at night, it wakes me up with 100% every morning..........
I have an alarm set for 40% "low battery" but I very seldom ever hear that Low Battery warning.

No two of us will have the same battery life experience with the same model phones....
Fer instance, this is a picture of my wife's battery life. Her's not mine....

The S5's battery is bigger than that. The S6 has 2500 mAh battery and it was criticised for being smaller than the S5's (all in the name of making it thinner).

S5 battery is actually 2800mAh. :thumbsupdroid:

Wireless charging is only really a convenience IMO, instead of actually plugging into the phone, it still requires a power-outlet to be available.

FWIW my Oppo F7a is also 2800mAh. I get about 24 hours, but I'm actually using heavily as a smart-phone, instead of computer sometimes. :)

It can be fully charged in one hour, with the manufacturer's "VOOC" charger.

Very useful before a twelve hour flight, LHR to PEK, and still have power to spare when I arrive. NO charging on the plane.

Mike, I am glad that my days of waiting in the Customs Lines are behind me...
now I can forget things like battery size and it don't make any difference, just plop it on the charger pad. :p

Me too.thats all i use is an external chargers..wait....is that that what u mean by wireless ?

I was wondering what mah meant on the battery size.. so there are stronger batteries than the extras I bought. They say 2600mah on them.

I never heard about a Qi pad.. what is it and I guess I can get that on Amazon- too. I didn't no there was something better than extra batteries. . I'm online a lot and between that and listening to music all day Of course I need lots of power while I'm out and about every day in NY . Every where u go u can forget about charging in public.either your phone will disappear or there's no unplugged outlets.. I can't be bothered..I'd b on the Ferry in the a.m. heading to NYC and ppl.are sitting on the floor in the walkways on the boat charging .it's crazy. That's the reason no the post I made here.. I'm like but really ppl ? Get an extra battery !!! Lol !!

The extra batteries I have are 2600-with a full charge they last about 4 hours each .

My Galaxy4 is in constant use...music and online..

here are some Qi Wireless Charging pads.

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias=aps&field-keywords=qi+wireless+charger

Depending on the cellphone you have, you insert a special wireless coil that detects the Wireless energy and converts it to DC to charge the internal battery.

You have to search for that specific to your phone model.

ie, this is the Samsung S5 phone.

... it should also be noted that Qi charging takes a lot longer (4x ?) the using a wall charger.

yes, Qi is not as fast as the OEM charger module, for me it is about 2X longer and is not an issue for a retired gent not going anywhere in a hurry. When I hit the road, the Qi pad goes in the duffle bag, and the phone lays on it thru the night...
I have MacroDroid configured to shut off all system sounds when it senses the wireless charging mode... no beeps in the night to bother me.

Note: QI is not a replacement for having a spare battery in your situation, @Crystalluv545 . It still requires you to be near an outlet...it's just an alternative to plugging a cable in.
Ok.. that's like using the external wall chargers too...It works out well for me.. I started using them in 2011 with my first galaxy .like I said I've never had a dead battery when I'm out ..it works for me.

So then what's the positive feedback on using that instead of the external wireless wall charger that usually charges my battery pretty quick 90mins.

I use the Tylt Vu charger. There are no wires to connect the phone. It holds the phone at a 45 degree angle. It sits next to my workstation. It is holding the phone at a very convent place and I never have to plug it in. When IO leave I just put it in my pocket.

Bottom line ... convenient ... useful ... I never have to think about charging.

I personally detest the trend toward non-removable batteries. At least before Sprint/Boost Mobile royally borked the towers serving me here, I was able to get to the point where I had my S3 tuned and with its zerolemon battery, to where my longest cycle was 6d20h52m on a single cycle. On average I got four days from that battery. However, after that, I was lucky to get a day and a half simply because it would burn up its battery trying to search for a signal that wasn't there.

With my current international Note 3, I get about 2 days on average per cycle with its zerolemon battery... but I also know that it is a much more powerful phone to begin with. On average I get about 2 or 3 days out of it, or 1 full day of constant video streaming (which is likely considering that this week is SGDQ 2015).

I also love a removable battery but some phones are pushing for wireless charging as well. Maybe the day will come when you can just be anywhere in your home while wirelessly charging your phone but until that day comes I would prefer a removable battery. I dont like being tied down to wall when my phone is low on battery -,-'

That 3900 is a nice improvement though.

yeah.. it's a challenge to find android device that lasts like 24hrs or so.. mine usually drains in a day.. I do surfing, emailing and gaming.. a lot of stuffs with my device..so it really depends on user's experience

Well a wireless charger still ties you to the wall - it just saves a couple of seconds of inserting/extracting the cable. Which is why I find ad campaigns like the current S6 ads in the UK rather laughable (a marginal increase in convenience, with a lower charging rate, does not offset the reduced battery capacity of the S6 to my mind).

Right. I got the wireless charger free with the purchase of my S6 back on release day but otherwise there's no way I'd waste the money. I've never had to recharge my S6 to get through a full day but I don't stream music/video (besides a very occasional youtube vid) or game on my phone. If I did, mine may not make it through a full day.
