Help New 2.3.6 and now a failed update? Help?

Help!
Verizon replaced my dead HTC with a LG Spectrum (due to a failed OTA update). Just spent the last few days getting it all set up and so far I like it.

But...this morning my phone started beeping when I was outside and my wife saw it was going to update my phone software in 2 min! By the time she ran out and got me it was too late. The phone attempted to update.

But...apparently it failed? I am on 2.3.6 now and the update is failing with a Reason Code of 503 and update package size of 389.67 MB. Firmware version is VS920V6B.

Help? I would love to update if it is worth it, but I just lost a phone (and a few days too...) due to a failed update! Verizon...grrrr....

Help a LG Spectrum newbie? Non rooted btw.

Thanks.

If you really want stock ICS then grab the LG update tool and USB drivers from here:
LG LGVS920 Support: Find Manuals & Warranty Info | LG USA

Run the tool and then click update software when prompted. ICS will lock your boot loader, so you have been warned.

Otherwise, if you just want to root, recovery, and use the OTA block tool, here you go:

No plans to root the phone. Arguments for and against updating to ICS on this phone? I've only had it two days! LOL
Have users experienced significant problems with the update?

Thanks!

You gain ICS and a lot of headaches. Tethering because a pain in the a##. Getting your phone to be recognized as a USB drive becomes harder. All in all, not worth it. You're honestly better staying on GB or going all the way up to CM10.1 with the V7 radio files.

My opinion?

Root it, flash CWM and flash the official CM10.1 or AOKP42.

AFAIK the FCC isn't letting phone companies void warranties anymore for rooting... so really, there's nothing to lose... and everything to gain.

Besides, rooting and flashing clockworkmod pretty much guarantees that you'll never get an OTA update again.
