I am sure u see post like this all the time, i apologize. I am new to the LG ALLY and just want to learn a few simple things...ex, how to make a 'group' so i can text all daughters at once, rather than 3 separate texts. I have found a app i may like, Swype, i have yet to get it yet, not sure how. i mean, i have read WiFi is better and cheaper than using the phone, and when i do download it, i have read folks having issues opening it.

I am a single mom of three teenager girls and was hoping this new phone would make it easier to keep in touch w them.

anyone willing to take this newbie under their wing? lol
 
I haven't tried any of those apps, but I do know that you can go to compose a new text message, under recipeints you can add multiple contacts seperated with a comma and send it that way. Ex. Dav 502 555 1234, Steve 502 555 1235. Try that and see how that works for you.

As already pointed out, you can add multiple recipients to the same texts. It's also possible to group contacts and send a message to everyone in a group.

The exact way to do that varies between phones (not all android phones have the same interface), so you'd be best off asking in the LG Ally section.

Are you talking about Swype or Skype? Swype is a keybaord (a pretty good one, but it isn't freely available), but by the sound of it you're talking about Skype, which lets you make phone calls over the internet. It should be available from the market.
 
Instead of typing the actual phone numbers of the three daughters

couldn't you just type out their names...

Type Sue(her name would pop up and then hit the number)
Becky(hers would pop up and hit the number)
and then hit Carmen(lol had to use my own name...and her number would pop up)

at least that seems to be the easiest way to me
