Well my wife has t-mobile and she has been in love with the Samsung Vibrant since she saw and used one of her friends.....I joined the forums to get some more information about it and to talk with people that have the same interests as me about smartphones! I can only hope that it doesn't deter me away from my iphone 4......flame away ;)

So does this mean you're getting her one for Christmas? :)
I really love my Vibrant, and I have a feeling once you see it in action you're going to ditch the iphone.;)

Welcome.

Gosh I hope that isn't the case....I truly do like my iphone, it's JB and everything....but seeing some of the reviews on these new android phones coming out really does prove to me how much of a restriction Apple puts on it.....any complaints about your vibrant thus far? And is rooting the same as JB? Thanks for any help~Chris

Well, I don't know much about JB...but rooting this device is as easy as downloading an app. It gives you access to do whatever you want to the phone. I think the number one complaint about the Vibrant would be software updates but if you root and flash the device it is not an issue. There are lots of complaints about the GPS, but mine is not a problem. I recommend you visit the Vibrant forums here and at xda and read, read, read. your 14 day/30 if in California trial period is plenty of time to try out this phone and se if it's what you want.

btw, I do not have hate for the iphone. I just really like android better. And you cannot beat the galaxy s screen.

Yeh I have been reading up on the vibrant forum here but i am not sure what you mean by xda? If you could point me in the right direction i would appreciate it.....what exactly does rooting do and would it be worth doing?

Samsung Vibrant - xda-developers

This is where I have learned most about this phone. I honestly think root is worth doing, although all I have done is root, I'm still learning about the rest of it.
rooting gives you superuser access. You can remove apps that the carrier forces you to have, and you can flash roms if you are not happy with the current software version.
