New Android Programmer Migrating From Microsoft

I'm new to Android, with all my mobile device programming being in Microsoft Windows CE and its various successors. I am looking forward to programming in Java instead of Embedded Visual C++. I'm not the most adept graphically; my strength is in the data processing behind the scenes.
