New Android User Needs Help

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3. I'm a new user that came from the iPhone. I am really enjoying the android phone so far but I do find it a little difficult for a new user to figure things out. The issue I have right now is I have a white triangle with an exclamation point in the middle of it. This symbol is on the top left of my screen. It is making the ATT logo disappear. What is this and how can I make it disappear.

When you looked at the symbol listing in the users manual, what did you find?
 
It's a data usage warning. I'm on wifi, so I'm not sure why I'm getting the warning and I share 10g with my family. How do I clear this symbol?

What did the manual say?

I suspect you're data usage is set to on and your device thinks you're over you cap.

You can either turn that feature off or reset the dates so they correspond with your billing cycle.
