Help New Android User

Hi,

I finally decided to give up iphone products and try out android. So far I have been amazed with this phone and to be honest I should have switched over much much sooner. Just not jumping over many loops to get things done compared to ios is a huge relief let alone the many features and customizations android offers. S pen is also very handy since I am a medical student and can take notes very easy when seeing patients.

iPhone 5s --> Samsung Note 4 and extremely happy.

I have a question regarding the alarm clock. It has a feature that you can set so when the alarm rings it reads you a message. for example i put good morning, time to wake up.
The issue is I uninstalled all the Samsung factory features and replaced almost everything with Google apps and keyboards and voice .... Long story short I am unable to change the sound of the alarm to british english ( same issue when I have incoming calls.)

Anyway around this? I do not like the sound feedback. sounds like a robot and is very unnatural. I changed my voice to british english and it works in chrome and google but not for the incoming calls and the reading messages and the alarm.

I would appreciate any help.

Thank you.

Welcome to the forums! I'm happy to hear you like your android device! As to the sound I am not aware of any setting you may have to try a 3rd party app!

I never knew if this feature on the alarm. Is tmit on the stock clock app? How do you go about making it read the message to you?

Language and input turn on read notifications aloud. make sure alarm info is turned on. then go make an alarm and at the bottom of it there is a message box it. You that message every time your alarm goes off

I try out an iphone once and hated it. I give it to my wife after 3 days of trying to navigate around the phone to find out what's all the bragging about these iphone product. My verdict for the iphone product is,"SIMPLICITY." which to me is just plain boring and lowtech even a 2 year old baby can just pick it up and put it in his/her mouth like a pacifier, you know what I mean. You see! My idea of a smartphone, is high tech with lots of features in there to keep you busy and at the same time enjoying every bit of features that that phone has. I may sounded like I'm just hating on iphone product, but I'm really not. I'm just saying that simplicity feature is just not me, not my style. I want something that has a lot of kool things being put into a little device that you could never think it's possible and made it possible as you try to navigate around and finding all of the features that's in that little device and you're going,"WOW! this is incredible,I can do all this in this little device." To me that is what I prefer to call advance technology. Because you're learning new things everyday just by hands on experiencing it. I may not be all that tech savy person but I like to explore that possibility and learn from it. My only conclusion here is that technology is getting more and more advance with these smartphones and the only way truely experience the wonders of these little device and see what they're capable of. Is by learning the curve of how things work and adapt to it. Nothing in life is ever simple if you don't want to advance further and just sit on doing the same boring simple things all over and over again which is what iphone is. And that is why I prefer android phones over the iphone.
