Root New apps & frozen at lock screen & ADB su

fleece

Lurker
My son has a Galaxy S I896 model, rooted, running Gingerbread build UXKH2 from Samsung. Is been running fine for 6 months since I originally rooted it.

He installed some apps recently, and the now it repeatedly freezes up at the security lock screen after a battery pull and boot. With USB connection from my PC, I can ADB into the shell and list files/directories, but trying the su command freezes up.

My son really doesn't want to loose his gaming data on the device.

Any suggestion for fixing the freeze and recovery?

I fixed it! Booted into Android Safe Mode by holding down the Menu button during boot, and uninstalled new apps that were misbehaving. My teenage son loves his father today.

Great news. i was researching for you early today i was just about to post that i am unsure how to fix it. But seriously great news
