Not yet, Although i have had the automatic update, just the small one that adds a "related" tab to the app pages. I wonder what this one is? Must be of considerable size

Actually, I think its a typo, if you google the Software number, its an update that the normal Desire recieved yesterday

You might be right because there is a huge difference with the current software number and the one of the update! Its goes from 1.3..... to 2.... just for a market update...

Just emailed my friend who has a Desire, he claims to have had no such update either.

He's on a unbranded phone. Maybe he's just a bit late, but the difference in numbers is a bit off as Nigredo rightly said. So I'll stick with your theory.

There is definetely an OTA update as reported here:

That's a typo - that's the update for the original Desire not the HD

Bit of a fail from HTC!!
