I don't actually understand all the concern regarding the Droid Pro 'obsoleting' the existing Droid phones. The purported dual band global operation might be a major factor for some people but probably no factor at all for many others. I haven't seen anything addressing the expected display resolution or technology and no details on how they plan to support a faster processor without negatively impacting battery life. Also nothing addressing whether it might be an LTE phone, although since it has been suggested that initial LTE phones will run CDMA and LTE independently this would seem to make it have to be a 'tri band' phone, probably not the best place to start. And is there actually anything definitive regarding the Droid Pro having a front facing camera and/or keyboard?
If Motorola was to announce that the Droid Pro will incorporate some significantly higher resolution, say 1280x720 to view native 720p content, and/or higher contrast display or maybe some new technology that significantly improves battery life then I might consider that a significant improvement. If not, then other than the dual CDMA/GSM aspect it seems to more be something that bridges the gap between the Droid 2 or Incredible and the Droid X while including a few incremental upgrades. So something that would likely be very popular but not necessarily a significant leap forward in functionality or performance.
