New Droid X owner

Hi!

I'm new to smartphones, period. I've had a clamshell nothing phone for 3 years, and just got a Droid X yesterday. Talk about a learning curve!

At any rate, great info here, thank you everyone who shares.

PS - how do I know the phone is fully charged? The screen is dark, and I can't tell. My old phone had a status on it...

The Droid X has a litle battery icon in the top right corner of the screen when viewing the Android home screen. This should give you a relative indication of the battery level. You can also go to App Drawer -> Settings -> Battery Manager to get a more detailed idea of the battery level.
