New ETA on Honeycomb Update

It really seems to be lining up with when ice cream sandwhich is released. If it is just honeycomb that will be a disappointment to me.

Really?!?! You would be disappointed with HC? Going from like 9 apps to 200 - 1000? I'm astounded by that. What is it you think ICS would bring that HC would not?

Proof they are actually going to keep the product going. I didn't say I wouldn't be excited for the market, but this product has been out for 11 months and it is using a flavor of android from 15 months ago.

I don't expect too much new from my Xoom whenever it gets ICS, but I expect some improvements.

No. I said it is using (currently) an OS from 15 months ago. HC is from February (or March, can't remember).

Got an email today telling me that it is coming soon, but didn't give a date. I'll have to check for an update when I get home tonight.

Did anybody get it on their Sony's?

According to the Google TV blog posted on Friday, which is available for all to read, the update was suppose to start early this week. It also stated that Sony devices will receive the update first with Logitech soon to follow. It gave no explanation as to why.

Sony blu ray player. I only quickly opened the market and media player. The media player was doing a better job at showing show/season banners from a dlna source.

It also kept giving me notifications about an update to apps on the market... even though I had nothing downloaded.

Still waiting........ any news on when the Revue will be updated? First it was the end of Sept. Then late October, then it would be getting it the week after the sony's. Well, it's the week after and no updates so far. Be honest Logitech, is it going to happen or not? Just tell me so I can go biy a Sony product!

Got an email that it is starting this week on the revue. will take 2 or 3 weeks to ota it to everyone

LMFAO sure. Since it's been months what's the difference in a "couple" of weeks. Hopefully, but I won't believe it until it's here.

I feel ya though that is how the email worded it. The sony boxes are getting it already fwiw

Yeah, that sucks. I got the email that I should get my Revue update in the next couple of weeks, and it's been 2 weeks now. As long as the Logitech news doesn't queer the deal, I'll be happy. All I need is that darn market...

Now they are saying a couple more weeks...

HATING THAT!

Yea me too. Hate the waiting, they better have it ready for the christmas shopping season if they have any brains at all.

Just got my first revue yesterday...I didn't buy it because of the HC upgrade, but it was serendipitous timing. That said, no I don't have the update, still waiting.

Will this be like for android phones where you can somehow get 'hold of the official update.zip and boot into recovery to manually load it? I've seen the youtube vids on loading the betas, but decided it's too close to going live to bother with that kind of stuff.

*eta...I also notice dish is advertising 3.1 already: http://www.dishnetwork.com/googletv/default.aspx
