New Fb messenger

Has anyone else tried the new Fb messenger app?
I love it. It looks great, it is fast and a bit lighter.........

What do you guys think?
 
Yep I agree but for some reason I can't seem to view attachments, but everything else works fine. I downloaded the apk that was linked in the Phandroid article so maybe that's why? I dunno.

I to downloaded it from there and have yet to have any issues viewing attachments.

I have experienced some force close issues with chat heads today.
 
I like the UI, but it is a little slower to load emojii and what have you. Be sure to disable auto-update or you will get 'updated' the older version.
 
I never use auto update.
I like to update when I am around WiFi,
Not at 3am while it eats up my data lol
 
Looks like it has been released to everyone and they made some more improvements!!!!

I had it side loaded so when the new app hit the play store and I updated it, it installed the old version first. I had to then uninstall the old version and download the new updated version.........

Not sure why you can't log in.
Let us know if you figured it out.
 
What's the difference between that one and the one already in FB? I have private conversations with people on FB, and I don't have any extra apps installed.

The UI is much better for one.

Chatheads ( popouts to use when your using other apps)
Faster and smoother
Uses less battery than the Fb app.
 
I just downloaded it to test it out. The sounds and images look like they're for a 5 year old. Not sure where they're going with all that. Honestly it looks like they're trying to imitate an Apple product.

As for faster and smoother, I see no difference in message responsiveness between the original FB app and FB Messenger. I'm also one of the lucky people who do not have a battery issue with the FB app. I think I'll just stick with the regular FB app and leave out the gimmicky childish looks of FB Messenger. It's just not my cup of tea.
 
To each there own. I happen to like the look of it and it is smoother than the old messenger app IMO.........

I love the chat heads

I got it working, every time I tried to log on from my home wifi or data it didn't work but when I used my university's internet today it logged in fine
