New FH13 update - anyone get it yet?

Updated using Kies & USB. Battery drain was about 10% per hour but now about 3% per hour on 3G. Better on WiFi too but not as improved as when on 3G. I can live with 3% ;-)

The new FF13 update does work well. For some reason because I hadn't set up my voice mail it wouldn't let me download it? With pretty much no use i was able to get 6 hours out of about 10 percent. I can go a whole day and only use 50 percent( with little use) .

Got the update a couple of days ago and battery life is still dismal. With Gingerbread, I could get 4 to 8 hours depending on how much web browsing, video streaming, texting, etc., was being utilized. When up "upgraded" to ICS, I noticed a significant decrease in battery life and FH13 has not made any difference. I'm lucky if I can get 3 to 4 hours with that same kind of mixed usage.

Does anyone know if folks with the Galaxy S III are experiencing the same kind of battery issues ?

Got an OTA update for FH13 about a week ago and battery life is greatly improved when the phone is idle. Especially when connected to WiFi. I would leave work with the phone at less than 40% with minimal usage, then it get to near dead in just a couple hours after I got home (connect to WiFi at home since data signal is not very strong). Now I can go all day and have it get no lower than 50% under similar conditions. No change when streaming audio via 3G, though. It's still a battery hog.

I always thought that if you updated your software over the air, that you would brick your phone or mess it up?

All of my updates have been OTA and my phone is humming right along. No bricking here.

I have a Galaxy S2 on Ting. To force the ICS update 3 weeks ago, and then today force the FH13 update, I performed the following steps:

1) Make sure phone is fully charged or is plugged into power (it's also is good to be on wi-fi)
2) Settings > Applications > All (tab at top)
3) scroll down and select Google Service Framework, Tap on Clear Data
4) go to system update and update PRL, then update Profile, then update android (aka Samsung Software).
5) if step 4 doesn't result in an update being applied, repeat steps 1 through 4. For some reason I sometimes have to do it twice before it works. It might be whatever step 3 is clearing gets "uncleared" if you're too slow -- not sure.

By the way -- Ting is a great service -- you pay full price for the phone up front, but you make that back with the very low monthly costs (as long as you stay on wi-fi at home, your monthly charges are very low). Started downloading after my second attempt. Rebooted and it stopped installing. It's stuck in the screen with the android and a white triangle with an orange exclamation mark..

Edit: Rebooted phone, still rooted looks like update did not go through. I'm going to try Kies and if that doesn't work I'll have to download the update and install it manually.

2nd edit: Alright, anyone mind posting the link to the update itself? Or can I just use Odin even though I am already rooted.

i noticed stand by mode on this update is pretty awesome, but when Im using an app or browsing on web, it kills at least 5% every 2 minutes

Hey all,
I have a Galaxy SII Epic 4G from sprint and had updated with FH13
I had the update a week and had to have my phone flashed back to gingerbread.
Some of the "Known" issues are
Receiving call, screen unlock will not respond.
Menu, back, home and search randomly pop up, with or without actively using an application.
sometimes buttons work sometimes they don't, back button becomes unresponsive.
while speaking with you representative at the Sprint store. I was informed that there are many more issues that can arise.
it was also explained to me that some handsets are affected by this and some aren't.
it seems to be random as to which handsets are affected in which ones aren't.

my galaxy s 2 basically became a brick.

This is my opinion. Sprint never planned on giving us a good stable fast ICS update. But before the E4GT was released, they did tell us that we would be able to upgrade to ICS. They did this so they could sell more phones. So now they have to give us SOMETHING or that would be false advertisement. So they give us a buggy ICS hoping we would buy a GS3 to get ICS. If they give us a good, stable, fast ICS, we will have no incentive to go out and buy their newest shiny phone.
