New firmware update available 2.1.A.0.390

received the update 2.1.1.A.0.6 today lets see what are the changes in there

* gah have to delete the stock apps again*
 
I am downloading right now, alas I rooted earlier version yesterday only!


I think this version has to have pinch and zoom and option of connecting to ANT+ h/ware. This was announced a week earlier.

Update the look of the most important is that the Xperia X10 users will now enjoy the features pinch-to-zoom on Google Maps and web browser. Unfortunately, no mention of the Gallery. Another update is the addition of support for other languages such as Arabic, Persian, Thai and Hebrew.

Here are some other improvements that will get the Xperia X10 (mini) and the Xperia X8:
Application Moxier Active Sync get the updates, including several new widgets for email, calendar and tasks
There are new options for video trimming
A small change in the Mediascape allows you to access the “Now Playing” from the top right corner.
automatic transcoding of high-quality video to the quality of MMS.

To Xperia Xperoa X8 and X10 Mini, Sony Ericsson is also adding features ANT +, which will allow your phone to obtain data from medical devices and external monitoring such as heart rate monitor, speed and distance meters, etc.

Updates will be rolled out gradually, which means that not necessarily will quickly reach the user’s mobile phone after it was released later.

And where did you read "pinch to zoom" and x8 in the same sentence? (whithout "NOT" or "NO"). I think you'll be dissapointed. Sorry!

Well initially I find one application of quick office (though it says you need an update) and another that of postcards. Still trying to find more!


Rooted it! So restoration of earlier state won't be difficult!
 
mmm i dont see any changes at all !!!!, rooted easily with super one click & this time i tried link2sd which worked successfully.
 
This is mainly a pretty meh update, unless you were one of those really frustrated over not getting pinch-zoom with 2.1 (I was not). The main changes apart from that seem to be:

-Mediascape can now be used in landscape, and there are some new customization options which are nice if unlike me you have not abandoned Mediascape for Zimly.
-Some cosmetic changes to the pattern unlock: The background is no longer blue - it's now transparent to show the desktop wallpaper, and there's now a "Forgot?" button in addition to the "Emergency Call" button. Still can't bypass the swipe and use only the pattern unlock. This seems to be an issue that SE/Google just don't care much about despite our many, many complaints.

Honestly, I have few complaints with the phone as it is. The only thing I want at this point is Flash, but who knows if we'll ever see that?
 
Also, this new Postcard app doesn't seem to be able to run without a Force Close. Have now tried half a dozen times including a full reboot - doesn't work!
 
hehe i removed that sh** post card app, even i am not a fan of timescape so removed that one too. for x10 they provided pinched zoom but its not there for x8
