Help New from a Rezound

The Shape

Well-Known Member
Hi all, I just upgraded from the HTC Rezound to the One M8. I like this phone so far but I am a little disappointed with one thing. 4G doesn't seem to come in as good as it did with my Rezound nor do I get as many bars.

I was looking around in Settings>Call> Preferred network. It was set to Global mode and I had 3G at the time. I changed it to LTE mode and after the signal came back it had 4G. It seems to stay in 4G mode more now. Has this happened to anybody else with this phone and if so, does this settings change seem like a legit solution? I'm going to keep it in this mode for a while and see how it goes. My phone is not rooted and I have the latest updates. I even did a factory reset after the last update. Thanks for the feedback.

That's carrier dependent but not surprising.

Each have their own schemes for shaping network traffic and the setting is there so you can set the preference.

In some or many cases, carrier dependent, you may not only be switching to different carrier radios but different antenna towers entirely. That's how it goes at my home.
