Help New froyo update screwed up my google account

I can't access anything using google. When i click on the gmail or market it asks for my password. Unfortunately i've forgotten it. Went to google to reset it and nothing happens. Says it can't verify who i am and won't unlock my account. I'm frustrated. My phone is now useless.

It did the exact same thing to me, but I remembered my password...

The only way to completely reset everything is by doing a Factory Data Reset to the phone, it will erase EVERYTHING. Which I'm sure you don't want...

Can you access your contacts page? and Does it show your contacts?

Cant you just go to google.com and click on sign in then forgot password and answer your secret question to reset the password?

so your account isnt screwed up - you just forgot your password?
