Root New G-Tablet impressions and questions

Well it has been entertaining. Tablet arrived on the 7th from Woot, played with it for less than 20 minutes and applied
VEGAn-GE-7.0.0-RC1-Harmony (GB2.3.3, stable build) For some reason cm7.0.3 (GB2.3.3, stable build) would hang at the CM circling logo, why? Anyone else have this problem? Yes I'm at the 1.2 bootloader. Anyhow all is well and seems to be working great.

Experimented with nvflash, because I had to. After loading rom manager I could never get into recovery, it would just reboot normally. Flashed nvrflash with clockwork and it let me continue, why no recovery from rom manager?

Power button does not always wake up on one push. I experimented with having wifi always on but it still continues. It also seems to power off after a period of time itself. More often than I'd like it takes multiple power button pushes to wake it up, is any of this "normal behavior?" I think if the power cord is connected it does not power off, still experimenting.

So now if I wanted to try BOS Honeycomb can I as the instructions say return to it's original firmware, apply BOS and then restore my data from my previous backup? does this restore the apps or must that be done with Titanium backup/restore? I suspect there is not cross compatibility between different levels of OS.

This thing is working so well I'd hate to upset the apple cart and spend another day of experimenting, maybe later. Just for fun movies on Crackle and Hulu are working perfectly. It looks like the Hulu option is a moving target and if they make a change, the modified Adobe Flash APK will be obsolete again. It would be nice when they abandon this cat and mouse game.

I got my tablet around the same time and also went straight to Vegan first. Had the same issues you described. I just flashed back the stock ROM and tried the CM7 nightly build. Didn't have any problem with it.

I have noticed the power button issue as well. In CM7 you can enable wake-up by pressing the volume buttons under settings.

Bouncing between ROMs I just wipe cache, dalvik cache and factory reset. I always make a backup before switching.

With Titanium I've learned to avoid backing up system data. I just back up apps and their data. I've had a problem recently because of all of the Amazon apps. Backing them up with Titanium gave me a lot of errors and then it seems to force them to link up with the Android market. So I've stopped backing them up.

The tablet is not bad. I'm glad I bought it. If we can get flash, Hulu and Netflix going on HC then it would be perfect. I've tried playon. Still debating on buying it. I've read it works with HC.
