New G2 user, strange battery problem

Love this phone.

Noticed that while in use (calls, music, video, youtube) the battery discharges at a very slow rate. When the phone is locked, with all apps closed, i discharge about 10% an hour.

This cannot be normal. Took off charger at 7 am this morning. 15 min of phone calls, and 20 min of youtube watching...now at 11:15 68%

That seems a bit much for this size a battery right?
 
Wow definitely NOT normal. Have you checked if there is some kind of rogue app running constantly in the back. I have noticed that in my phone the location services that Google uses takes up a very large portion of my battery. I only turn it on when i need to use google maps and i use my phone as a GPS.
 
If you can't find what is wrong i recommend using it for a couple more days and if the problem continues then exchange it at the store. A lot of times it can be a defective battery.

The battery in my G2 is excellent and it easily gets me through the day and i am an above average user.
 
Running any special lock screen SW?

Can't you go into settings, battery then battery info, and see who the big consumer is?

I'd consider a FDR if the culprit isn't obvious.

I did a FDR after the first 3 nights when this happened. as of right now I'm at 43%, and havnt looked at the phone for hours.

Nothing special on lock screen. Battery use shows 25% being used by android system, followed by screen at 18%, then voice calls at 16%.
 
After the fdr, what did you load onto the unit?
Did you try just doing the FDR and using it for a day or so without loading anything special on it?

The thing is, your battery does fine when you are using it, but when it's Idle, it's ripping through the battery. Doesn't make sense.
 
I have the same issue and i turned off the background processes in the developer settings which solved my issue. The only problem that i have now is that it turns itself back on from time to time.
