Help "NEW" Galaxy note 5 box seal broken

Hi guys,

I ordered galaxy note 5 (unlocked) from B&H as a gift to my mother.
I've just received the package, and when I opened the package, the white Samsung factory sticker on the phone box which says "DO NOT ACCEPT IF SEAL IS BROKEN" has been cut through.
Since B&H closes at 1 on Friday and close on Saturday, there is no way to contact the seller or customer service. I just emailed them about the situation but I don't know when they are going to reply me.

What do you guys think? do you guys think that they gave me the returned phone? Anyone else have this issue with the broken seals? This is so annoying..ugh

most stores do just that, the better ones, will put a date on the tape and state plainly 'Returned Item, but in perfect working order'

and those are the ones that I buy, as I get a price discount typically.

for myself, I would just open it up, inspect the item, and if you can't find anything on it.... just use it.

I have seen the stores open up a new box, install a SIM and let the customer try it out... Like it, take it home. Don't like it, put it back in the box.... no harm done.
 
Was this an international purchase, an import? Because sometimes Samsung phones have to be "activated" with a local SIM before they're shipped, which means carton seals might be cut, all depending on where you are and where the vendor is, e.g. Hong Kong.
 
I have the same issue with my Galaxy S7 Edge that just arrived (and they are closed until 26th for Sukkos).
I cannot reach anyone to get a resolution until Sukkos is over :/
OP did you get yours resolved at that time?
