New Galaxy S10-few questions

Just upgraded from a Galaxy S8 to an S10. We bought several extended USB cables for our S8, however when I try to use these to charge the S10, I get a message saying to check the connection. Obviously no problems when I use the cable that came with the phone. I thought they were the same, so I'm confused about the message.

Is there a way to set fingerprint preferences where I don't have to scan my prints if I'm at home or some other trusted location?

They may look similar but functionally there's a number of different features that they might be capable of doing. Check labeling on packaging carefully so you purchase cables that what work with your hardware configuration.

well under lockscreen in your phone's settings you have the option to use smart lock. i never use it though. the only thing i'm not sure it works with biometrics or not.
