New Google Settings app

hey all.

did anyone else get the new google settings app junk yet? Its a green icon and only has settings for ads from apps and apps that can sign in to google+?

Not a fan, seems pretty damn pointless and wastes space. These used to be in the play store.

things like this are the reasons i've about decided to delete google play altogether on my own system, and possibly on future roms.

there are other app stores that don't require background data and don't waste all the space with supplemental apks like google's

I'm feeling the same way. Google is seeming more like a virus then a service anymore.

It's part of Google play. If you remove it Google play will just automatically reinstall it.

only if you use google play store again or leave background data on.

otherwise it will be gone. if you uninstall google play it won't reinstall itself.

Touche. I don't even have Google play installed. Don't really see the point with all the alternatives out there. Google Play is slowly becoming bloatware.

You have to run Google Play to update and reinstall

you can just hide it using a launcher that supports that(Holo for example). i think a dev could probably hide it from the manifest, but I havent looked at it yet.
