Salesman has me testing an HTC Evo 36100. The phone looks good and is very easy to use. I am trying to use the Golflogix golf app. Unfortunately, I can not complete a round without the battery losing life. A week ago, I only got about 2 hrs of battery life. Trying the following to lengthen battery life:
1) Set it to "No animation"
2) Adjusted the brightness to less than 50%
3) Set the screen timeout to 15 seconds.

But when I start the golf app, it overrides the screen timeout setting. I have to exit the golf app and go to Settings. Once there the screen timeout has defaulted back to "Never turn off". Therefore, it looks like the most important battery saving feature will not work. Is this a bug or what am I not doing right. Once I set the screen timeout feature, should it remain such until I change it again?

Hello angelo. Welcome to Android Forums. I'm unfamiliar with the app you are talking about but it might well be written to change the screen time out so that it doesn't go blank on you while playing. If it changes the settings and doesn't change back on exit.. my guess is that the developer should work on it a bit. Perhaps a note to him might be in line. I hope you figure it out and enjoy the forums.

Welcome to Android Forums!

I would definitely contact the developer about the issues. Especially with first-release apps, there are bound to be bugs.
