Root New ICS Leak .215!

You will get that error if you do not have the update in the root of your sd card. It shouldn't be in a folder nor an extension.
Also make certain you are on stock.2 1 1 without any bloat removed.

Oddly enough, the file was just on the SD Card, not in a folder or anything, and stock .211. I don't recall actually removing any of the bloat but it's possible I did a few weeks ago and just don't remember it. But yeah, in the end after the third fastboot today it actually worked just fine. Thank you though, I appreciate the help. Can't wait to see if my battery life is improved or anything good really comes out of this. :-)

Day 1 of .215 - Definitely noticeable cooler temperatures on the phone, GPS locks on extremely fast, and no data drops. Giving it a few days/cycles before I decide whether the battery has improved or not. But as of right now, loving this leak.

I was going to do the factory reset like everyone has been suggesting with ICS and I was going to root so I could back up with titanium back up. I was think of putting this on my phone. Should I root and back up, and then just put this on my phone before I factory reset?

I just want to confirm a couple of things.

I talked to big red yesterday about my data loss issues. She told me that there was a fix in the OTA (but I can't get the OTA due to root), so she suggested I flash this instead.

She said the most recent software is 6.16.211.XXT912 - That doesn't jive.
I'm currently running 6.12.181.XT912 - I've recently done a factory reset so this is my "stock". If I run the .211 utility will it get me to where I can run this?

You guys have mixed reviews on connectivity issues. (Personally I'm having DNS drops)

You are all over the place. .211 is ICS. .215 is a leaked updated version of ICS. You need to first get on .211 in order to get to .215. So you need to perform your OTA update then you can flash .215.

Ya. I figured that out after going over there, downloading the software, softbricking my phone.... My phone never accepted the OTA because I rooted it on GB.

Now I'm downloading the 1.61 Utility to get back to GB so I can run the 1.71 utility to get me on 211.

It's been nearly a month since I ran the .215 and my battery went from mediocre to rotten, had to constantly charge it every night just to last the day doing email, web surf, a little bit of gaming, texting, voice calls, streaming music via motocast and Pandora, I flashed back to .211 using RSD lite and for what ever reason(s) now my battery life is phenomenal, the only difference is I have not re-rooted the phone. Go figure.

I offer this screen shot showing I had 15% battery life left after over 26 hours of use, only 8 hours of that was when the phone was just on and not being used.

I dont know I havent noticed any problems with the battery on my maxx. I usually go 2 days without charge. I use it as a navi all day, occasional surfing, texting, and talk time.
