Help New Inc User, issue with lock screen

OK, so I finally upgraded from my Eris to the Incredible and am amazed at how much happier I am. So far (only about 30 hours) I love the phone and all it's extra features that I'm not used to, like speech to text, visual voice mail, mp3 player access when on lock screen. But, with all that there's always downfalls I suppose. I have one very minor issue, but it's kind of annoying. When I go to unlock the lock screen I have to use the slide. The menu button doesn't seem to work for unlocking, isn't it supposed to? I now my Eris had it and it seems like even the manual says it's an option. Again, very minor issue, I still love the phone regardless. Any insight into this matter would be greatly appreciated. And before anyone suggests it (just in case) i'm not going to factory reset the phone just for this. Again, thanks.

On mine only the power button would wake it. That is the biggest reason i got Widgetlocker. It allows about any button you want to wake the phone.
