New Infuse user here....have a few questions?

New to this phone and really liking iy so far. Was hoping to get some advice and help.

1) When do we get the Gingerbread update? I am sure it has been asked a million times. Everything i found was from August and said it would be released that month.

2) What are the best apps to have on this phone? Preferably free but either way

3) Any little tricks or tips anyone would like to share about the phone?

Answer to question 1: Me and hundreds of others are running gingerbread 2.3.3...although im on 2.3.5 but yeah. Dont wait for the update just root your phone and get it. Im being general on purpose if u want to do this just contact me or post on the rooting section of the infuse forums...PS: your phone will run 3 times faster too!
 
I have tried different roms and just recently had to go back to stock. It really is pretty great all by itself. If you want to explore, try different roms. Don't be intimidated by anything. With a little reading on this site and xda you can fix anything, (just read and search first.)

Right now I am happy to be stock but rooted. If we can help just ask.

As for apps, my must have is titanium back up, root explorer, adw launcher,firefox, and scary ringtones ( you know its almost Halloween).
 
A leaked "AT&T" version of 2.3.5 is out. But it sucked pretty bad on my phone.
2.3.5 is also available on some custom ROM's. But the one I tried didn't work out that well either.
It's not available from Samsung yet (for the Infuse) and no indication of a release date has been offered.

I wouldn't worry about getting 2.3.5 yet. It's just not ready for prime time (in my experience anyhow).
