Just picked up an Inspire and have spent about 10 hours just messing around with it. Looks pretty amazing so far. My wife picked up Windows Samsung Focus, so we'll be comparing and see which one has the best features. I think having different OS will come in handy at times.

Anyway, been trolling the forums and have already learned some interesting things.

One thing I've noticed on mine, I have about 20 apps running in the background. I've seen not to use task killers, and I can imagine why, people probably close things they shouldnt, but what is the best way to close something after you've used it? What should never be closed? I've noticed things usually just stay running when you leave them.

Well, any knowledge passed to a noowest of the noobs to smartphones would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Welcome to the Android Forums!

In the newer releases of Android, processes that are not actively being used will go to sleep. They will release any memory they don't need to maintain and will only use minimal cpu. Android itself can further trim memory from these processes and stop them completely if it determines that they are no longer needed.
