NEW KEYBOARD - SwiftKey

The video on their site looks cool. Any idea if this will be free or how much will it cost ?

Might be nice, however I don't think the video on their site accuratly shows how much faster it is. The guy on the stock keyboard is tapping letters way slower

if you guys are interested in speed-efficient typing than you should consider swipe input (swype, slideit, shapewriter)....because ill tell you right now, the video on the SwiftKey website looks like very good predictive entry....however swipe input will still double that input speed, guaranteed

ok I am new to android, have a desire. I have downloaded and installed swiftkey and get the option to use it in the settings but when i type a message out its the standard keyboard. Any ideas what im doing wrong? Many thanks

This does look cool...but if it's speed you're looking for, swype is still far and away the fastest input method. :)

Wow! I have sent 1 text saying "get it working correctly?" and it saved me 17 key strokes, or 45% efficiency the usage stats say :) I like this already :D

I wouldn't go that far. I consider myself good at Swyping, but there are people out there who can Swype ridiculously fast.

90% of the time I dont even have to touch a letter with this app. Its like it knows what I will say...

Ok swype fanboys give a real comparison or something please. Yes swype was kind of cool but saying swype is better without even downloading is ridiculously silly. Ima try this out sounds interesting.
Ah can't get downloaded on phone. Have to try tomorrow on pc.

I've tried nearly every keyboard, including this one. The one thing Swype has over all keyboards is the simple fact that you don't have to tap and pray. The reason we love Swype is that we get to ...swipe. Sure this keyboard is very forgiving, but you still have to tap.

Personally I didn't like swype. I'm all for speedy texting as much as the next guy, but swype isn't a typing application. It's an application designed to forego the actual typing process. I have nothing against swype, it just isn't for me.

I have tried several different keyboard applications and haven't found too much success. I JUST downloaded swift and I'm hoping for the best.

I did see that someone had posted earlier that they had tried to install it from the link above and had a parsing error. Download the file to your computer and then sync it to the phone for installation. Worked like a charm.

Yeah everyone has their own preferences. This is definitely a nice keyboard, I was just referring to the speed of Swype.

how do you this "sync" to the phone?
i was under the impression that all apk files, you have to transfer to ur SD then navigate to it through astro (or something like it) and install it that way.

That's how I installed it. ;)

A statement like this requires proof.

EDIT:
I am typing this edit with swiftkey and will probably wind up uninstalling it when i'm done. i have to tap it all out since it wont predict anything in dolphin. in fact i had to turn off autocomplete because it would only let me type "I" over and over every time i hit space no matter what i had typed in.

It's a shame this thing doesn't even work for me... i was going to recommend it to a friend (they don't like swype).

using moto droid running official 2. 1.

Yeah, so Swift key requires full internet access? That's a no go for any keyboard. Looks a lot like the HTC keyboard which I use already.
