New LED monitor

I'm looking to pick up a new 23 -24 inch LED monitor. My max budget is $220, please don't ask me to go higher. I will use the monitor for a mix of gaming and other but very little video watching. I will be viewing the monitor straight on and not at angles. Would it be better to get a more expensive TN monitor that's in my price range or one of the newer but less expensive IPS monitors? Any recommendations?
