Hey just a heads up if you own or thinking about owning a Mac anytime soon, check out the blog that was posted during Steve Jobs Mac conferece today in Cupertino Ca, awesome new Macbooks and Mackbook pros!

http://live.gizmodo.com/

Yeah those new Macbook and Macbook Pros are pretty sweet. They look nicer, sleeker, sexier...but they won't have an crazy added functionality added to them. Which begs the "evolutionary" not "revolutionary" idea. But, who wouldn't be happy with a GPU performance bump and a sleeker finish, not to mention the already positive feedback from the glass trackpad + clicker.

Wife bought the new 15 mbp and that thing is pretty nice. I can't get used to the whole trackpad as a button. I have a 4 month old mbp and hers is about the same from what I've used it fo speed wise. Hers is a small bit thinner. The biggest difference is the screen. The new one is much brighter and more vivid.

The first ever Apple related post?

Not one negative comment either!

It's like looking back into the past. :)

Were not all fanboys. Though try to say new Android Stuff released on the Mac Forum and I'm 100% sure you won't get a positive comment.

On topic : I might get one this year :D Need an upgrade for my Neo

I too am not a knee-jerk mac hater. I'm a well thought out one ;)

I do admire their hardware though, second to none in my opinion. If I could get a macbook, wipe out OSX, install Linux, and cover up that freakin' apple logo, I might consider it.

Or even better, how about some other hardware manufacturer step up their game and start making equally well designed and integrated equipment. But that'll never happen. If Apple insults our intelligence, everyone else insults our sense of aesthetics.

I personally don't car which company makes, just as long I get my money's worth. I know of a person who is the real fanboy, so much that he make everything, EVERYTHING look like an Apple product. You should see his iToilet :D

Anyways, what a good Mac for school purposes, needs to be lightweight(though every Mac I know is light weight)? I'm a web-dev major, if that helps. Also I like to store movies and games. Which new Mac should I get

You do realize this thread was made back in 08?

Yes. I am very aware of that. That's why I said "First ever Apple-related post?" hehe I just figured that it would be interesting to see what the first Apple-related thread was here considering there are so many threads about them.
