New Member and New to Android!!

I haven't looked closely at Best Buy's "protection plan," as I never buy those things from retail stores. But maybe I'll read the details on it. Also, I have never bought any of the Sprint protections plans: paying $8 or more a month plus a deductible in case you need to use the insurance doesn't sound cost effective. Any comments on the above two plans appreciated.

There are threads about this, as it has been debated, so I would try to divert this topic there. That being said, I prefer the Sprint insurance because it is the most comprehensive. For example, the Best Buy insurance does NOT cover lost or stolen phones... Sprints insurance does cover lost/stolen.. and everything under the sun.

I have had to use the Sprint insurance twice on the phone I have now. Rumor Touch. Never did have to pay a deductible..

Hello All,
I am a new Member and new to the Android phones. I have sprint for a carrier and could some one help guide me in choosing a new android phone? I have a buddy that has the 1st HTC EVO and he likes it. I was thinking about the I phone but changed my mind pretty quickly!!:D Which phone in the android market is going to give me the most use as far as making and receiving calls, using the internet to browse, texting. Only have 3G service where I live.

thanks,

Welcome to ANDROID FORUMS!

As most have stated here, you can't really go wrong with any of the 'Big Three' in SPRINT'S current line-up of ANDROID devices, being the PHOTON, EVO 3D, & EPIC TOUCH 4G.
All of these devices are to be eventually upgraded to ANDROID 4.0

However, if 4G LTE is coming to your area relatively soon, I'd wait for one of the phones that support 4G LTE to roll out.

As for my personal experience, I have the PHOTON & great 4G WIMAX coverage in my area.

The overall build quality is excellent, as is call quality, web browsing, & video playback. I'm not a big photography buff, so, I can't give an educated opinion on the camera on this phone, as I only use it sparingly.

The PHOTON also has many docking options, check out MOTOROLA'S website for information / videos.

I haven't owned any of the other phones, but, if given the opportunity to choose again, I'd stick with the PHOTON.

I'll gladly be using this phone until 4G LTE rolls into my neighborhood. Who knows, maybe someone will figure out a way to utilize 4G LTE on a WIMAX phone by then.

Haha. It was my LG rumor touch that I dropped one too many times 3 or 4 daze ago that led me to get my Photon.

Good Lord!! It doesn't go far enough south. Need the Warner Robins/ Perry area!! Seems like they would put 4G LTE out here due to the base being here and trying to tie them in to a long term contract!! guess verizon has the base all tied up nice and neat...
