Hello everyone. I joined due to frustration with data handling on my Samsung Captivate on AT&T. I thought that the Captivate automatically switched to WiFi and away from 3G when a WiFi signal was available. Well, today I was listening to Pandora and suddenly I get a message from AT&T that my 5 day old 200MB data package is 65% used up. The data should have been streaming from my home WiFi network. Anyone have any suggestions?

If the 3G icon at the top is not there, are we absolutely certain that data is from WiFi? Any way to turn off 3G data capability, but still be able to receive phone?

Thanks for any help, everyone.

Welcome to the Android Forums!

There are apps available in the Android Market that will automatically enable WiFi in areas of known WiFi service. Look for apps like Y5 or Auto WiFi Enabler.
