New memory card

I want to buy a bigger memory card for my htc desire s, but i have a lot of stuff on my old card, is it a simple matter of copying my old memory card to my new one and plugging it back in and it will run okay or do i have to re install things

Yes, a simple C/P will do the trick, but beware of the bogus chinese memory cards on ebay...
