Yes, there's always someone happy using the wrong tool for the job, whether it be hammers to drive screws or screwdrivers as chisels.
The front camera will have genuine uses though, like making it easy to connect to Airdroid without having to type codes
I have to say I find the 7" screen to be perfect, and I hope they don't increase the size.
It's not obvious that there's any changes that would make it worth buying the new model (unless you want LTE of course!). If it had a 1080p screen I'd probably succumb to the temptation, though I find the current 720p screen very good so I'm not sure 1080p would be that great an improvement.

i'm probably going to buy the new one when it arrives just so i can have something to play around on. I don't currently own the Nexus 7. I'm not in a hurry so i can wait. In fact i may wait a month or two after release so all the crap quality units are possibly out of stock. The second run is always better.

The funniest part about this...
I've used a tablet to take pictures
I've used a hammer to drive screws in (only slightly into wood to get them started)
And I've used a screwdriver as a chisel to get paint off of some metal.

I've definitely done the 3rd one. Only that was to get old glue off a speaker I was repairing. Stabbed myself in the hand a couple times because I slipped. :argh: Did the trick though, worked great.
Sometimes there isn't anything wrong with a little improvisation, but in the case of these people, I'm sure many of them do have a smartphone. Or if they don't, have some ol' camera that would take pictures even better than a smartphone. At tablet just plain isn't good for taking pictures.

frankly.. with those specs. It is not enough for me to replace my current N7.
In anticipation of the famous nexus 7 and it's likelihood to have a 2013 2nd generation nexus 7 expected to be released running the new JB 4.3 and supposedly being released on the 1 year anniversary of the nexus 7 ...can anyone confirm the information? That's just from googling and sometimes I know Google doesn't have very good rumored sources..
Anyone know a release date cause I was told the 1 year anniversary of the first gen nexus 7 which should be any day now....Walmart in my area freed their tablet inventory and changed the tags but hasn't put the new ones out....I'm hoping that by 7/15/2013 it will be out...been trying to replace my laptop with a worthy tablet and chose to wait for this.

I'm kind of anxious too, by most accounts about another two weeks. My Acer died about a month ago and this will be its replacement. I've been debating just picking up the 32GB current model from Wally World for $199 but the rumored specs of the refreshed model has me waiting.

i think the FCC filing showed VZW band LTE onboard as well as AT&T i'm not sure about the rest of the crowd.

It has band 4 lte, which would be t-mobile, not sure what sprint uses though.
