Help New Note 2: what to check for/do?

My Note 2 is arriving later today, and I'd like to have a checklist of things to look for and do upon opening it.

So far I plan to:

- install SPIGEN oleophobic screen protector & TPU case
- check for any obvious defects (i.e. scratches, bad screen etc.)

But I'm unsure what else to look for or do at first.

Please suggest things to check for or any recommended first steps upon receiving a new Note 2. This is my first ever smartphone, and I paid full price for it ($650+tax!) so I want to do everything right on my end.

-Make sure there are no dead pixels.
-Might wanna invest in a micro SD card too depending on what size yours is
-Also might wanna read the instruction manual for this phone. There are A LOT of stuff you can do with it
-Most importantly, play around with it and enjoy it. It's an awesome phone.
