Root New OS?

So I've heard of a new Android OS called "KitKat", and I was wondering if any of you fancy developers have looked into making it for this device. I have been told that I shouldn't count on Metro to update these devices, so I come here to ask if one of the developers here to take a look at it in their spare time. Thanks for reading.

I read that thread but is was unclear if anyone was going to try and build KitKat or not to me...
