New package pushed to my machine. I am at 4.2.1.

Just got a new package for system upgrade. I am not sure what os level I was at before but I am now at 4.2.1. Anyone else get this fix? Any reports on how it went after the fix?

So far, the machine seems responsive even with 12 background processes running but I have only been with the new package for an hour.

I am going to search for the change log to see what supposed fixes they packed in here.

I looked around but cannot seem to find a change log. I even looked on the Asus website and the firmware that I have is not listed under the support for fimware. Strange.

Why would they do this?
Thank goodness I am rooted already (running CRomx-i)

It's funny, we see root as something good and helpful while OEM's and wireless carriers see it as a security flaw that needs to be closed up. Root in the hands of an experienced person can allow great things like delete bloat and blocking unwanted ads. But in the hands of someone with bad intentions, disastrous.

I think the carriers view at least one of those great things as disastrous ;)

Seriously, it does remove the potential cost of support calls from people who've messed up their own system software. But in reality how big an overhead is that (especially when they can just say "your problem")? One of the reasons I always root is actually because it gives me more options for fixing things.
