New Person

I'm a new member - my name is Beth. I just bought an unlocked LG GT Opitmus 540. It's my first experience with Android. I'm a retired IT mainframe system designer and I'm stumbling around in a new paradigm. Yesterday I downloaded way too many free apps and slowed down my tiny system till it's dragging. Now I'm trying to delete them and don't know how. Arg. Learning new things is supposed to be good for you. Anyway, hello- nice to be here I think.

Hello and welcome to Android Forums. There area a lot of free apps to be had lol. It's extremely tempting to get carried away. However, the way the os works, unless you have an app that remains active or tsr so to speak... it's not draining resources.
To delete most apps you can go into your settings>applications> manage application and you should see the option to toss whatever to the curb if you so choose. I hope you enjoy the forums and your new device.
