New phone Huawei Valient now on Metropcs website

I only got this phone in a pinch because my S3 took a crap due to charger getting hit by lightning in turn frying the charge circuit in the phone..i didnt have the extra money (id rather eat this month) so i got this temporarily..it is actually halfway decent. better than i expected from a crappy $80 phone..plays all my games..battery life is amazing compared to my S3..granted..camera sucks and no 4g which i don't care because i rarely get 4g coverage in my desolate area..still waiting on a root for this so i can delete the crappy metro bloatware.

If someone is still stuck on an older Android or even a basic phone, this phone gives them the perfect opportunity to upgrade. A new line makes this phone $29 with no mail-in rebate. If one isn't too attached to their phone number, this deal is pretty good to pass up.

here in Michigan we are still waiting to be put on the GSM list. This just proves what I have said from the start. T-mobile sucks. this was a bad move by the morons that runmetro pcs. They wont even let us look at GSM phones on the site.

Seems like half the people on this forum are 16 year olds obsessed with OTB speed. i however on the other hand like to tweak things.. this little bugger still has a decent snapdragon proc in it..granted it is only 1ghz its like buying a core i3 because you can't afford an i5 or i7. its still fast enough to get you by at a decent pace to run everything you want and if you overclock the i3 itl almost out perform an i5. i am sure if someone roots it you can overclock the proc to around 1.4ghz and itl be a good little performer.. also..the 5mp camera from my LG esteem seems like itl fit in the case..and the connector is the same. so maybe il give that a go :-D i shall call it my "frankinvallient"

also the people saying that people are stupid for buying this phone. nope. i know i like to tweak i got this phone specifically for its hardware. i would rather be out $80 if i blow it up than $350 ;)

root doesnt mean you can overclock it, having a custom kernel is required for that and huawei doesnt release kernel source. so there wont be any overclocking...

the majority of people arent tech geeks like people on this forum. they buy for the basics.

these phones are not for us, they're for those who want a basic but solid phone experience for a low price.

bit of dilemma. i called metro and they said they dont give out the codes (dont they have too??) and told me to use third party service yet if i go tohttps://www.freeunlocks.com/unlock-huawei-Valiant it says if made after jan 26th its "illegal"

glad to see president obama admin. putting pressure on fcc to require phones to be unlocked. it'll make life easier.

i know, but the customer service dude said they don't offer unlocking and said to go to third party but then another guy said to go to corporate store.
