Help New phone...not new to andriod

My buddy has a new phone and it has 2.2.2...can that be rooted on this phone or is there a downgrade or something....what.do I need to help get my buddy get recovery and some cm7 if its possible

1. Yes, it's possible to root the M835, follow this guide: http://androidforums.com/m835-all-things-root/388174-how-guide-root-huawei-m835.html
2. Do NOT try CM7 on the M835, it can get buggy and there's no Wi-Fi on it
