New phone recommendations

Hey so I've got this Samsung Galaxy Nexus a few months back but I think I'll need to buy another phone. This phone is awesome don't get me wrong but I want something that is more dedicated to messaging and social media networks. The large 720p screen is very battery draining and unneccessary for what I'm using it for. I also can't feel the keys when I'm using it in class so I have to look at my phone, and the teacher catches me. Blackberries are perfect for this I guess because of their tactile keyboard but I still want an Android. I've seen the Samsung Galaxy Pro but that's a bit pricey (I know I have the GNEX) for just messaging. All BlackBerries seem to be

Put your phone away and learn something! :D.... I kid... I kid...

What about your gnex don't you like? Like what about the messaging app, what doesn't it do social media wise, etc.?

They days of the physical keyboard phones are pretty much behind us. As you said you could go with BB, but I think you would regret that.

Lmao it's just when the teacher is waiting around for the rest of us and I'm just there waiting as well.

It does everything to be honest, nothing it can't do that I want it to do at the moment. I just want another phone which is more specialised you know, I'll still use GNEX of course.
I don't think I'd regret BB if I used it for only the things I described above though

My pops has a BB and it's painful to use Facebook on. But it is an older model

Lmao where did you get 3 phones from? and I can always buy extended batteries or extra ones so yanno :P Only dummies lug chargers with them.

Just pull out a full sized keyboard that will attach to the galaxy nexus in class and if the professor asks what the heck you're doing tell him you're practicing your macro for the uber MLG pro gaming you do after school.

He will totally understand, probably even give you an A for being so pro ;)

Otherwise, i always had the problem you did when i was in highschool, however i found a texting app for my Droid Incredible that basically enabled me to text fairly accurately without really ever having to look down.

Swype | Type Fast, Swype Faster

That app, which you are probably familiar with, allows you to swype to the characters you want, i still use it today, and it just makes texting so much easier and faster, in my opinion.

Yeah I've used it before but I'm not that good. I've bought the Swiftkey 3 app because it was in the sales :P I still prefer the feel of some actual keys though otherwise I'm not that good at knowing where they are

Oh well, might as well teach you my trick. I use a laptop in class for taking notes. Its normal nowadays. I have an open browser with AirDroid on it. Basically, Airdroid on phone+ Airdroid on PC = read and reply to SMS on your laptop. All you need is both devices be on the same WiFI connection.

So much for listening in class lol but yeah I know about Airdroid, I use it. We don't have laptops though its not like university.

Lol yeah, but sometimes some messages are important. I can take a cursory view of what the message is, and who its from. If its important, reply, if its not, go back to class. LOL.

I don't have free Google Voice because I'm not in the US or Canada :( But I use Twitter and Facebook :)

I too love sending texts when they don't cost. I send crap loads when I have unlimited and then try my hardest to lay off texting when I have to pay from my Top-Up balance lmao
