Help new phone what is the best way to back up phone?

I am not rooted. I have EVO4G that needs repair./replacement/reset.
I have Apps to SD and seeking something to save all my settings, etc on my phone before I bring it in to get it fixed/replaced --I am seeking something for Android that iCloud does for the iphone --it saves your screen settings, contacts, calendar and such. all you do is log in once and everything is reloaded.

I know google saves contacts/calendar. Apps to SD saves your apps. What about text msgs, screen settings, etc? will I lose those? With all these piecemeal options, I am concerned that I will lose a bunch of stuff, and spend too much time reloading/resetting my phone after the techs get ahold of it to repair/reset/replace it. I am seeking something that I can log into once and reload my phone with the settings/apps i have. (like what the iCloud does for the iphone) vs spending hours to get it back to where is was when I brought it in.
Thanks
