Help New Phone

My old S3 was acting up. It was the power button. So I got a new S3 from online, not AT&T. I put the SIM in, but it does not make calls or texts? I looked on The Net, but I am not finding the answer. Has someone else ran into this situation? The phone I bought, the guy said it was AT&T.

Anything else I can try?

You need to call at&t and give them the imei number . if the device is a at&t if not you will need to unlock the device so it will work on at&t

If it didn't ask for the unlock code when he put the SIM into it, chances are it's locked to AT&T. Chances are also that it could be defective.

I called AT&T and gave them the IMEI number. All is well.

However, the first person I called at AT&T seemed upset that I got the phone from someplace else and not them. My local store did not have any S3's. So luckily we got disconnected. I called back later and just said it was a gift.

With their new MobileShare pricing you should be paying less than if you get a new phone from them. And at this point why would you ever get a subsidized GS3 when we are now on GS5?
