Though I've been hearing a lot about Android and the advantages it brings to mobiles, I could put my hand on one only very recently - I purchased the Motorola Quench XT502, preferring it over the Samsung Galaxy 3 due to its hardware, and, looks. It comes with 2.1 (Eclair).
In the past 3 - 4 days, I've been able to root the device, and install an update to Froyo (2.2) with the Cyanogenmod 6.1.1 build for Commtiva Z71 clones. Though it works fine otherwise, its battery consumption was too high - 75% drain over a period of 6 hours of just idling (at night while I was asleep)!
I've joined this forum to gain knowledge and to find good apps & upgrades for my phone.
