New Release date

Almost a month after the iPhones- that is nuts. Analysts already project a lot of phablet users and current smaller device owners migrating to the Plus. I think the size of the Plus will surprise a lot of folks in a bad way- but most will adjust. Apparently also a mega slip magnet, so case sales will be brisk.

No sense IMO shipping a device six weeks after the launch event. Why not just launch THIS week and then announce the ship dates. Seems tighter and more professional in comparison.

Think I am siding with an Alienware 13 purchase in November and keeping my S4, unless a first hand test of the N4 results in pure tech lust.

Anyone see any specific details on the Samsung "trade in any working phone and get $200 off the note 4" promotion? I'm wondering if it's just on the unlocked model...

I am wondering if the smart phone has to be activated? I have two incredibles worth zilch. I want to keep my DNA in the event the 4/Edge is a problem child.

From the wording it sounds like it just has to be a working phone, but there has to be SOME restrictions. Also, I highly doubt it would come off of the subsidized price, but that would be amazing!

Oh, that's my agreement for sure. There always is a catch...but what is the major question.

And if the 200 off isn't off "suggest retail price" of 1000 but what it sells for at 99% of the stores off contract, it might be worth me taking the plunge. So Ill hope to see more people post if they get the facts.

Awesome, so it essentially is off the price however you purchase the phone. Well I was going to pass on the note 4 and just stick with the 3, but this will definitely be the only time my galaxy nexus will be worth $200...may as well take advantage lol

So the way I read it.

I upgrade with two year contract.

Note 4 is 299 (example...no idea its cost) subsidized cost.
"trade in my phone to the store" (minimum 10, but trade in at Verizon says 5...lol)
Log in after 10/10 with both ESN's
Get a check in 4-8 weeks with difference between trade in and 200 from Samsung.

Did I read that right?

LOL. Thats MY thought as well. I have two actually....

I was at the Cinci campus not too long ago for a data analytics business seminar. That campus is VERY hilly. I was quite surprised. Thought of it with the Bearcats logo.

Yup, its my Alma Mater. You get used to the hills. I used to live on West side of campus so lots of up and down those hills...LOL!

I dunno if I can keep using my cracked screen Ultra for another month,... twitch, twitch,....:argh: , ok breath in, breath out, ...may have to get the N3.

Trade in value comes off of retail price or contract price
working phone means no physical damage
you can't go into a store and trade in an active device for preorders, if you want to preorder you will need to pay up front and you will receive a shipping container to send your old phone in when your new one arrives

So if your phone is only worth 2 dollars will they still take it but the final reimbursement is only 198?

regardless of the original trade in value, you will receive a flat $200 gift card

unless of course your phone is worth more than $200

That is not how I read the site. It seems to say that you'll get a TOTAL trade-in value of $200. So, if the value of your phone is $6 - you'll get a gift card for $194. The $6 would be deducted off the price you are paying.

Do you have some inside information because your description sounds more appealing. Either way, I have a HTC Desire lying around.. :)

Edit: Okay, bad example - I just read the fine print. The max check you can get is $190 as the minimum trade-in value is $10. Hmmm, I wonder if a rooted phone is okay.

Am I correct that a person could upgrade using whatever phone is on the line?? So if I have an upgrade on a line with an old droid X on it (one of my daughters), I could do the upgrade on that line (that line will have an upgrade available in a few weeks) and get $200 for th Droid X on trade?? Then after the upgrade I would move the N4 to my personal line and move an S3 I wil have available by then to my daughters line.... if this is all correct it sounds like a good deal. Not that $200 was going to stop me from upgrading, but this just sweetens the deal.
