Root New ROM - bad battery life

I was running leeDroid 2.3d froyo - and very happy with battery life it was usually about half full at the end of the day.

I decided to update my ROM to the leeDorid gingerbread one, specifically this one:

[ROM]LeeDrOiD V3.0.8.2 GB 28th Jun | Android 2.3.3 | OTA | A2SD or Data++ | TV Anim - xda-developers

Now my battery life is terrible, even though my phone is set up the same (same brightness, same update intervals etc)

The only real difference is that I have been using Go Launcher (but I have sense running with a clean slate in the background - no widgets).

Would anything else cause this battery issue with a new ROM - there are no new apps that I can see that would require updates etc.

I will try calibrating the battery and see if that helps for a start. But you can nearly see the battery meter go down. It was at 25% earlier and I was browsing on my Wifi for about 15mins, and it went down to 11% in that time.

Tempted to go back to 2.3d using my nandroid backup..

Tried the charging trick using the battery calibration app.

Phone has been running 7.5 hours and I have 45% left (losing over 7% an hour). I have only been checking email and a bit of browsing today. No music or videos or anything like that.

I have all syncs set to manual except for email. I have the screen brightness set pretty low.

Some battery usage stats:
Display usage 55%

For some reason copilot is 13% and I haven't used it in a while - when are these battery stats from? From what period?

Android system is 7%
Dialer: 7%
cell standby 6%
phone idle 5%
Dolphin browser 3%
voice calls 2%
Internet 2%

Not sure what to do now, may be just uninstall GO launcher and go back to what it was before. But not sure if this is the leedroid Gingerbread ROM causing this.

Uhmm ok!

Rebooting phone here.

Just as an aside - does anyone know if there is a difference between rebooting, and simply turning off the phone and turning it on again.

The reason I ask is that if I restart the phone (normal restart) - I get the O2 splash screen which sits for about 15-20 secs before the leeDroid R2d2 noise.

If I simply turn off the phone (power off) and then power on - I don't get the O2 splash screen and the phone boots really quickly!

Just strange.

Rebooting complete. Uptime is now 4 mins (it was previously 50 hours).

Battery stats remain the same in the battery use menu (just over 8 hours on the battery use now)

Reboot involves the splash screen. Hd Roms can hibernate from power button if that's what you have
